My first try of a 'colostrum' powder, good flavorful chocolate powder but what is it really?

“Got this "Magic Milk" powder as I was trying to diversify the different types of powder I use in my drinks for energy and health enhancement. I learned later that "colostrum" is a special thing from cow's milk that is only produced when that cow has a newborn - and there's a whole rabbit hole of whether that is done ethically or not. I couldn't find any information on how this is sourced for Magic Milk specifically, but I didn't see anything that specifically said this brand was bad about that either, so I'll only speak on what I can. I added the powder to milk and found it tastes great giving it a chocolate flavor; it isn't that different from cocoa mix in that regard. It dissolves well and I was able to mix it either with milk or heavy whipping cream. A scoop is provided which is much appreciated, helping ease of use and measuring. I felt pretty good after every time I've had it so no ill effects. Some of the benefits I'm not sure I'll be able to manifest such as better health for my skin or bones, but I'm holding up alright and don't mind having this a couple of times a week if there's a chance that it could do something for that. The container has 20 servings and the asking price is $40 bringing that to a $2 a serving which is a bit pricey for chocolate milk powder - but if it does improve my health long term that would be a very nice bonus and I wish it were easier to measure the effects over time. For now I'll enjoy the increased energy and knowledge knowing I'm making the best use of what the cow provided to empower everything I do! Thank you dear cows!”

It mixed quickly and lump free in short order, so it's likely spoon mixable. I did not try that though.I honestly would consider this an ice cream mix for the Creami though. I mixed it about three scoops per Creami (non deluxe) pint. Freeze ultra cold in a deep freezer. It comes out mind blowingly smooth and very tasty.”

“Magic Milk is totally new to me. I’ve heard of colostrum but never paid attention to what it is and what it’s supposed to do. The opportunity arose and I order this. Typically, this kind of supplement fails to deliver on promised flavor. Well, this isn’t typical. It really tastes like chocolate milk; especially if mixed in milk. The only thing is I’d recommend getting a single serving drink mixer. I included a photo of the mixer I use to get an idea of style. The reason is that this stuff doesn’t really mix all that well with a spoon.As for the effectiveness, I can’t really tell a difference after 20 servings. I really don’t know what I should be even feeling. I’m pretty sure this is the real deal. Seems to be a reputable company. I haven’t had gut problems, but I didn’t before either. Tastes amazing, but pricey

“This is a 20 serving twist top jar of Magic Milk Colostrum + Collagen, from Fasted Athlete. It arrived fresh and factory sealed. I am not certain of the benefits of drinking collagen peptides, but I figure it doesn't hurt, and I know colostrom can be helpful, so I decided to try this. It says you can add 1 scoop (scoop is included) to any cool beverage, but I recommend you stick with things like water, milk, etc. versus, say, orange juice because that would just be weird, lol. The label does not say how much liquid to put the scoop of powder in though. It's easy enough to use, just add a scoop to your drink and mix very thoroughly. Since I wasn't sure how much drink to use, I used about 8 oz of milk. I used a handheld electric frother to mix it, and it was a little hard to get mixed thoroughly even with that. I'm thinking maybe a shaker bottle and vigorous shaking would be more effective. It had a bit of something foamy floating on top when I was done mixing, but it didn't affect the texture of the drink, and I've had that happen with collagen drinks before, so I think that's actually normal. The flavor is rich, delicious chocolate and coconut, as it is made with coconut milk powder. It tastes absolutely delicious. I am hoping it is also effective as to skin health, hair health, and immune health. Time will tell. At $39.99 for the 20 serving jar it does seem kind of pricey, even though I really like it.”

It tastes like chocolate and coconut as there is coconut in it!! All of the ingredients are healthy and simple, nothing confusing on there at all. This mix is super good for the body. It helps with digestion and overall made me feel great! The texture is that of regular chocolate milk unless you don't mix well then there would be some chunks lol, but still delicious. You get a lot of uses out of this as it's one scoop per serving so it has lasted me a long time, definitely getting value for my money with this product.”

“This colostrum powder is pretty tasty when mixed with milk but no so much when mixed with water. It has a decent amount of Stevia to sweeten it which I would prefer they had used less but that's just because I'm not really a fan of Stevia. It does not dissolve well when mixed with a spoon or whisk but does completely dissolve when mixed in a blender. It will settle though if not consumed quickly in which case you will want to stir it up occasionally. They don't say how much liquid to mix with it but in my opinion and preference, it should be mixed with 6 to 8 oz of milk depending on the fat content of the milk. Skim I would do 6, whole 8. This is made with bovine collagen so if you have any sensitivity you will want to avoid this.”

“I question just how effective these colostrum and collagen drink mixes are. That's why I knocked off a star. I feel like they're kind of gimmicky.That said, this mix tastes super good. A scoop with a glass of milk tastes like chocolate milk mix and has a similar texture, except thicker. The used one of those milk frothing hand mixers to blend it with the milk and that worked really well. No clumps.The container is a little less than 2/3 full. I was a bit surprised by how much of the container was empty. The photo is right after I opened, before I tried it.”

“This magic milk has a sweet chocolatey flavor. Most of the sweetening comes from stevia leaf extract, so you may experience a little aftertaste with it. I don’t really notice any myself. I like that has only 30 cal per serving and only .5 g of saturated fat. I appreciate that there’s no table sugar. The amount of protein is surprisingly not very high considering that the mix includes collagen peptides and colostrum. It has only 4 grams of protein per serving. It also has 200 mg of sodium per serving, which is a bit higher than I would prefer.The current price seems a little high, although it does have 20 servings per container, so you might be able to find a similar mix that’s a better value. But it’s tasty and convenient.”

“I found this drink to be very sweet, even after adding more liquid. I used cold corn milk and added one scoop of powder. It didn't mix all the way, even after using my electric whisk. It is a very chocolatey drink but it has an artificial sweetener aftertaste. This has stevia in it. I don't think I would ever drink this on its own but would use it in a smoothie with a scoop or two of unsweetened baking cocoa.”

“This chocolate colostrum + collagen completely exceeded my expectations. One little scoop in a glass of oat milk was like drinking dessert after dinner… No nasty chalky taste like we’ve come to expect from powder supplements. The flavor is so close to real chocolate milk that my kids now beg to drink it. You really can’t beat the ingredients and I always appreciate supporting a US-based veteran family. You will have to use a little hand whisk/blender or shaker to get the powder to mix well, but that’s to be expected. I’ll absolutely order more of this to keep on hand for when we have a sweet tooth.”

Extreme stevia flavor, an aftertaste that doesn't quit

“This stuff has a seriously bad aftertaste. I mean, I drank it several minutes ago and it's still very strong. I'm going to have to go drink something else to wash out the aftertaste of drinking this.Making it isn't all that difficult. The container itself doesn't tell you how much liquid to mix a scoop into. It just says to add a scoop to a beverage. The listing says 8 oz, so that's what I went with.I mixed this into straight water. I used my little blender, and it did take a good bit of blending. In other words, this probably isn't much fun to mix with a spoon.At first it tastes chocolatey. Then that stevia, chemically flavor hits. That flavor just sticks around. It turns into an aftertaste that just won't go away. It's not pleasant.As far as colostrum itself goes, there isn't a medical consensus on it. Yes the supplement industry can say it does this that and the other, but we don't know yet.It doesn't taste like coconuts at all, even though it has coconut milk in it. I don't like coconut, so I would definitely notice that. It tastes like chocolate, then chemicals. Chocolatey chemicals I suppose.I'm going to go drink literally anything else now to wash that aftertaste out of my mouth because it's still there after writing this entire review.”
